Fun for Kids. Peace of Mind for Parents. We know how much trust it takes to leave your child in someone else’s care, which is why our safety practices are designed to give families confidence from morning check‑in to afternoon pickup. Camp Mirage uses secure check‑in and check‑out procedures, maintains a 1:10 counselor‑to‑camper ratio, and follows established emergency protocols and first‑aid procedures. We also have clear systems in place for managing camper medical needs, including EpiPens and inhalers. All camp locations are safe, supervised environments where kids can enjoy high‑energy fun while parents enjoy peace of mind.
Camp Mirage is an inclusive summer community, and we celebrate all campers and their unique identities. We are committed to supporting each child to the best of our ability and can provide accommodations when the appropriate resources are available.
If your child has additional needs, please contact us so we can discuss their specific requirements and determine whether Camp Mirage is the right fit. Our goal is to partner with families to ensure a safe, positive, and successful camp experience.
We use secure check‑in and check‑out procedures to ensure every camper is accounted for from the moment they arrive until the moment they leave.
Supervision and safety are at the core of every camp day. Campers must remain with their assigned counselor and group at all times during the camp day (9:00 AM–12:00 PM). Camp Mirage maintains a 1:10 counselor‑to‑camper ratio, ensuring each group is closely supervised and that counselors can provide the attention, guidance, and support campers need. This structure helps us keep every child safe, accounted for, and fully engaged in their scheduled activities from morning check‑in through dismissal.
For safety reasons, campers are required to follow counselor directions at all times. This includes staying with their group, listening during transitions, and adhering to activity guidelines. Clear, consistent supervision allows us to maintain a secure environment and ensures that every camper can participate safely in all camp activities.
Camp Mirage follows established emergency protocols to ensure staff can respond quickly and confidently in any situation. All counselors are trained in first‑aid procedures, including how to assess injuries, provide immediate care, and contact emergency services when needed. We conduct regular safety reviews and maintain clear communication systems so staff can act fast and effectively during unexpected situations.
For campers with medical needs, we have structured procedures to keep them safe throughout the day. Families provide all necessary medical information during registration, and medications such as EpiPens and inhalers are stored securely but remain easily accessible to trained staff. Counselors are instructed on proper use, monitoring symptoms, and documenting any medical interventions. Our goal is to ensure every camper’s health needs are met with care, consistency, and preparedness.
The State of Michigan licenses both locations.

Camp Mirage is committed to providing a safe, positive, and supportive environment for every camper. To ensure the well‑being of all children, we maintain clear behavior expectations and consistent supervision throughout the camp day. Our counselors guide campers with patience and positivity, helping them navigate social interactions, follow camp rules, and stay engaged in activities. Thank you for partnering with us to create a safe, respectful, and enjoyable camp experience for everyone.
Any form of physical aggression or violent behavior is strictly prohibited at Camp Mirage. This includes hitting, kicking, pushing, throwing objects, or any action intended to harm another camper or staff member. Our counselors intervene immediately to ensure the safety of everyone involved, and families will be contacted if a camper’s behavior jeopardizes the well‑being of others. Maintaining a safe, respectful environment is essential to the camp experience, and we appreciate your partnership in upholding these expectations.
Campers are expected to use respectful and appropriate language at all times. Swearing, inappropriate or suggestive language, and any form of verbal harassment will not be tolerated. Counselors address incidents immediately to maintain a positive, inclusive environment where all campers feel safe and supported. Families will be notified if a camper’s language or behavior disrupts the well‑being of others or violates camp expectations.
Camp Mirage maintains a strict no‑bullying policy to ensure every camper feels safe, included, and respected. Bullying—whether physical, verbal, social, or digital—is not tolerated. This includes teasing, exclusion, intimidation, or any behavior intended to harm or upset another camper. Counselors intervene immediately and we work with families when behavior disrupts the emotional well‑being of others. Our goal is to create a positive, supportive environment where all campers can thrive.
Our counselors use positive guidance and redirection to help campers navigate social interactions and follow camp expectations. When behavior becomes disruptive or unsafe, Camp Mirage may take the following steps: Redirection or reminder; Formal warning; Communication with parents or guardians; Behavior plan or temporary removal from an activity. If behavior continues to jeopardize the safety or experience of others, removal from camp may be necessary. Removal due to behavioral concerns is not eligible for refunds.
Camp Mirage reserves the right to remove any camper whose behavior jeopardizes the safety, well‑being, or overall experience of others. This includes repeated disruptive behavior, physical or verbal aggression, or failure to follow camp rules after appropriate interventions. Because removal is based on behavioral concerns that impact the broader camp community, refunds will not be issued for any portion of camp missed due to dismissal. Our priority is maintaining a safe, positive environment where all campers can thrive.
