One camp counselor for every 10 children.

Counselors Who Make a Difference
Our counselors are a big part of what makes Camp Mirage special. In fact, 85% of our counselors were once campers themselves! They know the excitement of camp firsthand and return to help create that same experience for the next generation.
Counselors typically work with us for three to four summers, giving campers familiar faces to look forward to seeing. Along the way, they often become mentors who encourage children to try something new, help them navigate friendships, and celebrate their successes.
All team members undergo background checks. Before camp begins, counselors receive training on expectations, ways to engage and encourage children, and strategies for building connections within the group. We help them understand how to make every camper feel included and how to be the best counselor they can be.

A Plan for Every Day. Something to Look Forward to Every Morning.
Camp Mirage blends thoughtful planning with the playful traditions kids love. Our theme song, morning “bonfire” pep rally, and camp counselor challenges bring everyone together and start each day with energy and laughter.
Each week, counselors receive a detailed plan of daily activities built around their camp’s theme. Extra activities are ready whenever campers finish ahead of schedule, keeping the fun moving throughout the day.
For our younger campers, Junior programs for children in kindergarten and first grade offer opportunities to play, create, connect, and grow.
Big Fun. Everyday Life Skills.
Some of the most valuable parts of camp happen between the planned activities: introducing yourself to a new friend, deciding how to spend your canteen money, or choosing an activity on your own.
At Camp Mirage, children practice skills they can carry into school, home, and everyday life. They make new friends, connect with both younger and older campers, and develop communication and cooperation skills that can strengthen family relationships, too. Those experiences help build confidence as they approach transitions into middle and high school.
Weekly canteen budgeting gives campers hands-on practice with money management. During extended care, choosing their preferred activity encourages independence and decision-making.
